Cottage Life magazine featuring Longwoods Barn Quilt Trail
A photographer from Cottage Life, Mr Jim Norton, will be travelling the Longwoods Road today, weather permitting, taking pictures of the Barn Quilts on the Longwoods Barn Quilt Trail. We don’t know whether he will take pictures just from the road or he may want to come on to the property of barn hosts.
Please welcome him into our communities and show him the pride that we all have for our rural heritage, our barns, our properties and the age old art of quilting and barn quilts.
Cottage Life is a well known Canadian magazine, with its first issue in 1988. The magazine prides itself on wonderful photography and stories.
We are honoured to have our Barn Quilt program possibly featured in this magazine.
Mary Simpson and I have been trying to keep the blog updated. Send us news or stories that you may have. Please keep track of the types of questions people are asking about your barn quilt block and the Longwoods program, as well as who is interested. We need to understand our audience better.
There are now over 150 barn quilt blocks in our area. There is an interesting barn quilt trail near Aylmer. Settlement Quilt Stories Trail This trail was made by the Mennonites in that area.
